IDE-E at the COP22, Marrakech (Morocco)

Two Moroccan cities - Agadir and Chefchaouen - are rewarded the Middle East & Africa (MEA) Energy Award at the COP22 in Marrakech, showing by example.

Agadir and Chefchaouen are the first municipalities to be rewarded the Middle East & Africa Energy Award (known as the Jiha Tinou Label in Morocco). The Awarding Conference, led by the National Agency for Energy Efficiency (AMEE) with the joint support of GIZ and IDE-E, was held in presence of the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of the Interior, the French ADEME, the Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC) and the Forum European Energy Award (EEA). The certification recognizes both cities' ambitious energy and climate policies and the achievement of significant results over the last five years.
