Green Cities
Support to the Jiha Tinou territorial strategy of AMEE by assisting six Moroccan cities
(Agadir, Oujda, Chefchaouen, Beni Melal, Marrakech, Rabat).
Short project description
The project aims to provide support to six Moroccan cities trengthen local governance structures,
technical and managerial capacities, for the planning and implementation of priority energy actions, including :
> Municipal energy accounting (Oujda, Agadir, Chefchaouen);
> Introduction of electric mobility in the municipal fleet (Rabat, Marrakech, Oujda, Agadir, Chefchaouen);
> Bus Rapid Transit powered with electricity (BRT) (Marrakech)
> Cable car project
> Upgraded, optimised management and energy efficiency of the public lighting network
Services provided
> General coordination of the project, management of an international and local team of 7 permanent experts and 12 contractors;
> Assistance to six municipalities in the design and implementation of their energy projects;
> Targeted technical assistance and training in relation to the projects ;
> Information and communication related to the project and the activities carried out.
