Project

Energy - Jobs - Territories

Promoting energy management for local employment in two territories in Tunisia

Short project description

This project consists of supporting - on behalf of the National Agency for Energy Management (ANME) - two Tunisian municipalities (Nabeul and Bizerte) for the development of energy actions likely to stimulate the economy and the creation of local jobs.

In Bizerte, the project supported the creation of a demonstrative "positive energy building" by optimising the energy management of the City Hall (energy efficiency and solar PV production).
In Nabeul, the management, collection and recovery of household waste has been optimised and a system for sorting and recycling PET, cardboard and bread waste has been supported by relying on the informal sector.

An analysis of the opportunities and constraints to the development of green jobs in the two governorates was carried out in order to identify concrete courses of action in favour of the development of local demand (in green services and technologies) and the reinforcement of the quality of the offer.
