What we are concerned about
Cities are responsible for 70% of global greenhouse gas emissions, with the energy sector, including transports, being considered one of the most carbon-intensive, largely based on fossil fuel combustion for heat and power, followed by industry, agriculture and waste.
The need to act and the potential for local governments to mitigate and protect their populations from climate change is significant, however, many of them lack the necessary resources, knowledge and know-how to take action.
IDE-E is a non-for-profit think and do tank, based in Switzerland and France, aimed to support sustainable options for low carbon, socially inclusive and resilient urban development in low-income countries.

We are a team of experts in different fields that are supportive of our common vision and goal:
to facilitate the development of low carbon, inclusive, resilient cities in low-income countries.
With our collective experience, knowledge and know-how we support national and local governments, entrepreneurs and civil society actors in working towards a more sustainable future.
We build our vision collectively, but bring in our individual knowledge and know-how to design, co-develop, and support the implementation of projects that contribute to
a sustainable future for ecosystems, cities and people.
